Garland, TX

Garland is a large city in the north part of the DFW metroplex bordering the city of Richardson to the northwest, the city of Sachse to the northeast, Rowlette to the east, Dallas to the south and southwest. This city is home to a very diverse population, a variety of different industries and vastly different neighborhoods. Much like neighboring Dallas, this city has areas varying strongly by income level and lifestyle. There is a lot to do in Garland and it is a very convenient location to live in for access to most major Dallas county highways. Parts of Garland are in Collin county while the vast majority is in Dallas county.

The city contains a mixture of technology, telecom, and industrial complexes depending on which area you are in. Some of the top employers in the area are companies like Raytheon, L-3 Communications, Hatco, and Navistar International.

Garland has a lot to offer for shopping and dining throughout the city and there are a number of beautiful apartment communities and neighborhoods speckling the area. In the north Garland area Firewheel Town Center is a fun place to visit to shop and eat. Not far off from Firewheel there is the famous Hawaiian Falls water park, a great place to cool off in the summer. Other great places to visit in the area are the local parks, the Granville Arts Center, the Plaza theatre, the Garland Opry, and the Garland Landmark museum.

This city is conveniently located near the George Bush turnpike to the north, Highway 75 to the West, and 635 along the southern end of the city. The great thing about this city is that it is packed full of major roads and almost anything a person could need is quickly attainable with just a short drive. Public transportation also runs through the area adding further convenience if needed. Garland is just a great place to live and work in the DFW metroplex.
