Downtown Dallas stands as the central business district of the city of Dallas, much of the business that occurs in Dallas may occur in other parts such as areas along North Central Expressway and Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway. This area remains always on the go and in some sort of rush, if you visit during the weekend or after business hours the area lies still. There’s always quite a bit to do in the area as it stands split into several districts such as the victory park district, trinity river corridor, government district, historic west end, or the ever growing arts district. The downtown Dallas area also houses a massive farmer’s market where visitors can enjoy fresh produce or purchase plants.
Few places in the metroplex compare with the amazing feeling that downtown Dallas provides. You feel alive here as you watch the professionals rushing back and forth to and from their high profile jobs in the towering skyscrapers that line the area. The Dallas Pedestrian Network connects a series of walkways, tunnels, skybridges to buildings and underground malls and pieces many blocks in the skyscraper filled portions of the downtown area together. Along this tunnel you can find everything from hotels, restaurants, shops, office complexes and even high rise condominiums. In recent years the city has increased the number of downtown condominium style apartment homes in construction which span several stories into the sky and give quick access to the exciting city life below.
You will find getting to and from the area incredibly simple. Denton runs a transit into the downtown Dallas area along with the McKinney Ave. Trolley which runs back and forth from the Uptown area. The entire Dallas area remains serviced by the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) which offers both busses and a rail system which also connects to the TRE (Trinity Railway Express) and can give public transportation based access all the way into the inner Fort Worth area.
Downtown Dallas stands as a great place to live, play and work and you get all of the excitement that comes with the hustle bustle of one of America’s busiest downtown areas.
