Leander Texas is a northern suburb of the greater Austin area located about 22 miles Northwest of Austin next to the city of Cedar Park which borders Leander to the south. This suburb is one of the fastest growing in the northern portion of the greater Austin suburban area. The city is located in both Williamson and Travis counties. The city is south of Liberty Hill and southwest of Georgetown and to the east of the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge. To the southwest is Lake Travis which is a reservoir of the Colorado river and a popular destination for lake activities and ziplining in the area. Also to the southeast is the city of Round Rock which is home to the global headquarters of Dell and home to many other technology companies.

If you are looking for a laid back semi-rural suburb north of the city then this may be a great place to choose for a new home. Leander is a very peaceful suburb ideal for raising a family or winding down after a long day of work in the nearby city. You won’t find the same kind of busy, traffic ridden atmosphere you will find in Austin in the beautiful suburb of Leander. This area is the type of place where you wind down and relax, maybe go on a fishing trip to nearby Lake Travis or watch a sporting event at Cedar Park Center in Cedar Park.

The city is served by the Leander Independent School district featuring a number of different school campuses for different grade levels which also serves some of the nearby suburbs such as Cedar Park. Higher education can be found readily at the Cypress Creek Campus of Austin Community College located in neighboring Cedar Park.

Leander is a great place to live and relax, it is a sleepy town with a lot of potential to grow over the next several years. Consider Leander when thinking about where you want to move next in the Greater Austin area.
