The City of Richardson is located along the US-75 corridor north of I-635 and is located in both Dallas and Collin counties. Richardson is located south and southeast of Plano, west of Saschse, northwest of Garland, southwest of Murphy and it is east, northeast and north of Dallas. This city is known for its diversity and emphasis on the telecom and IT industries. Much of the city is lined with small to large scale business offices and complexes with companies such as MetroPCS, Fossil, Wingstop and other major companies having their corporate headquarters there and many others having major offices in the location. Major companies such as Cisco systems, Verizon, United Healthcare, AT&T, Fujitsu and others have corporate offices in Richardson and are major employers in the area.
Richardson is home to a large Asian and Middle Eastern population and has a lovely variety of ethnic foods and boutiques available for those visiting or living in the area. Along and near to Belt Line Rd. in Richardson near US-75 heading east is a very distinct Chinatown district which is home to some of the most authentic Chinese cuisine, goods, and services in the DFW metroplex. This is also a great place to enjoy the lunar new year festivities as events are held in multiple shopping centers there each year. Along this area you will also find hookah lounges with belly dancing and even African eateries which makes this a haven for culture enthusiasts. Further along the Belt Line Rd area you will find an Indian movie theater which is a great place to enjoy Bollywood films.
Higher education is available here at the University of Texas Dallas campus, or in nearby Richland College. Shopping, entertainment, and dining of a more mainstream nature is available all throughout the city and surrounding areas.
Richardson is quite possibly one of the greatest places to live in the DFW metroplex. This city offers beautiful homes and trendy, upscale apartment complexes. It is a family, student, and professional friendly environment and can be an amazing place to call home.
