Bee Cave is a suburb of Austin and a neighborhood in the greater Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos area. The neighborhood was named after a large cave of bees that settlers in the area found in the late 1800s. The neighborhood has a rustic and rural ambiance with a dash of upscale suburban flare. When passing through this neighborhood you may notice large tracts of private land fenced with beautiful western ranch-style log fencing. The area is very scenic with trees and hills at every turn and the residents of this area seem to take pride in their property. Bee Cave is bisected east to west by highway 71 and the city is very convenient to Austin while being just far enough out to enjoy the countryside. To the north of the city is the Lake Travis area and the neighboring cities of Cedar Park and Leander to the north. To the southeast is the Barton Creek area which has a number of beautiful trails and other natural sights to enjoy along with the convenience one would expect from an Austin master planned community.
The Bee Cave area is also close to the Austin zoo just to the south of the area. Shopping, dining, and entertainment are available in great amounts in and around the Bee Cave area. A popular place to spend hours window shopping and enjoy great food in the area is the Hill Country Galleria, an outdoor mall with a town square feel.
The Lake Travis Independent School district serves the Bee Cave neighborhood. The apartment communities in the area vary in the amenities they offer. While some offer a luxurious suburban suite of amenities and community culture, others offer a more laid back atmosphere. Obviously these communities vary strongly based on income and other factors but Bee Cave is a great neighborhood to find an ideal apartment regardless.
